TAPETEN

$30.00 - $225.00

Weimar styled photographer beauty.

German camera company Rollie was probably inspired by the selling tactics that Eastman Kodak applied to sell a heap of cameras. Their popular “Brownie Beau” was a simple reface of their basic “Brownie” camera but with high fashion geometric Art Deco aesthetics. Kodak was selling these like hot cakes. In fact all manufactures of the late 20’s implemented the same winning formula of refacing old products with high end modernism to part shoppers from their wallets.
In 1933, Rollie launched an Art Deco variant called the “Rolliecord” or “TAPETEN-ROLLIE” (wallpapered Rollie). This version of the Rolliecord camera was marketed to the Modern Woman of the Jazz age with it’s silver cladded wallpaper on black leather stylings.
