The phrase EAR MUFF was the slang word in the 1920s used to describe radio, the new craze of the day. It changed the world communication and entertainment in the same way the internet has changed the world today. The independence of the modern woman, or Flapper, was choosing whom she wanted to date, going to bars with men (a new concept at the time, smoked, potty-mouthed and were glued to their radios enjoying the golden glory of the Jazz Age.
